Yadkin Valley Cookies

This mission was born to honor my mom's memory. She passed away in October 2018. She was my best friend. She lived her last 4 years in a Nursing Home. Visiting her every day I became close to many residents and family there. Almost every day, I told mom she was my sunshine. Even making a decal for her window with those words and buying a pillow to match.

Mom loved birthday celebrations. Mine and her's (mostly hers). She would start reminding us weeks before her birthday.

Visiting the nursing home every day, I came to realize how many didn't have any or much family. Many, no birthday recognition. So-Bette's Boxes of Sunshine was born.

My goal is to provide each resident in the facility with a Box of Sunshine on their birthday. If only to brighten their day a little bit.

As word got out I was doing this mission for my mom, generous and caring people began to donate and help out in several different ways.

Some also want to send to family they have at another facility nearby. So I've created this page to share with others if they wish to donate or purchase a Box of Sunshine to be delivered to their loved one.

 Not all boxes will be exactly the same, but will follow along the same theme "Sunshine" due to dietary requirements and ability to get supplies. However, they will all have the same value of items included.

A true labor of love! My mom, Bette was a very special person. I want to keep her memory alive with these boxes and bring a little smile to someone else
